Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) continues her relentless attacks on Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). Greene accuses Johnson of surrendering to Democrats on border security, compromising public safety in the process.

Greene's attacks stem from Johnson's recent endorsement of a spending deal with President Biden to fund the government through September. This agreement, however, excluded the tougher border security measures that many conservatives, including Greene, had demanded.

As the debate over military funding for Ukraine looms, Greene intensifies her opposition to the aid package and increases pressure on Johnson to prevent its passage. She has also threatened to remove Johnson from power if he does not adhere to her stipulations.

“If Speaker Johnson gives another $60 billion to the defense of Ukraine’s border after he FULLY FUNDED Biden’s deadly open border, the cruel joke would be on the American people,” Greene wrote Monday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“And it won’t be April Fools.”

In a subsequent message, Greene attempts to link the Speaker's actions to the arrests of immigrants accused of violent crimes in Boston. By doing so, she insinuates that Johnson has not fought vigorously enough against Biden's border policies. These baseless accusations only serve to further inflame tensions and distract from the real issues at hand.

While Johnson acknowledges Greene's frustrations with the government spending package, he emphasizes the realities of governing in a divided Washington.

“These are not the perfect pieces of legislation that you and I and Marjorie would draft if we had the ability to do it differently,” Johnson said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.”

Johnson says he has engaged in discussions with Greene and plans to meet her in person to address her concerns.
