Majority of Democrat Voters Support Candidates Advocating for 'Open' Borders, New Poll Reveals

In a recent poll conducted by CRC Research for The 85 Fund, it has been revealed that a majority of Democratic voters would support candidates who advocate for "open" borders. The survey, obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation, sheds light on where Democrat voters stand on border policies.

The survey asked respondents whether they would be more or less likely to support a candidate who believes that "immigration is healthy for the U.S. and we should keep our borders open to fill jobs many Americans do not want to do."

Maybe not so surprisingly, 55 percent of Democratic voters expressed their inclination to support such a candidate, while 36 percent stated that they would be less likely to do so.

On the other hand, among Republican voters, an overwhelming 78 percent said they would be less likely to support a candidate who shares the same view on immigration. Only 18 percent of Republican voters indicated that they would be more likely to support such a candidate.

The online poll was conducted from January 3rd to January 7th and included 1,600 registered voters from across the nation. The results provide valuable insights into the contrasting perspectives on immigration among Democrats and Republicans.

The alarming surge in illegal immigration over the past few years has reached record levels. Border Patrol data reveals that in fiscal year 2022, there were over 2.2 million illegal crossings at the southern border. This figure further escalated to over 2 million in fiscal year 2023, according to federal data.

In December alone, border agents encountered a record-breaking number of more than 300,000 illegal border crossers, as reported by Fox News. These statistics paint a clear picture of the urgent need for stronger border security measures and a reevaluation of our current policies.

This poll should serve as a wake-up call regarding the potential consequences of advocating for "open" borders. Allowing unchecked immigration can have detrimental effects on national security, the economy, and the well-being of American citizens.

The poll's margin of error stood at ±2.45% overall with a 95% confidence interval, ensuring a reliable representation of public sentiment on this issue.
