Biden's Open Border Policies Lead to Chaos at Airports as Asylum-Seekers Fill Standby Seats

As the crack of dawn breaks over McAllen International Airport in Texas, a troubling scene unfolds as long lines of travelers, including asylum-seeking migrants, congest the terminals in pursuit of standby seats on flights.

The Biden administration's lax border policies have created a chaotic situation at airports in southern border states, with Border Patrol agents forced to screen migrants to ensure they are not attempting to board flights illegally.

Under the watchful eye of Border Patrol agents, asylum-seekers are granted travel documents and released into the country by the Department of Homeland Security, flooding airports like McAllen International with a surge of individuals vying for limited seats on flights.

The overwhelming demand for air travel has prompted airlines to advise passengers to arrive hours in advance, disrupting the travel plans of law-abiding citizens and causing frustration and inconvenience.

American Airlines and United Airlines, major carriers at McAllen International, have been inundated with asylum-seekers purchasing standby tickets, leading to overbooked flights and last-minute bumps for unsuspecting passengers like Joel Cavazos.

Cavazos, a frequent flyer and business executive, found himself bumped from a flight, missing a crucial business meeting due to the chaotic circumstances created by the influx of asylum-seekers at the airport.

Despite the disruption and inconvenience faced by legitimate travelers, airlines like American Airlines claim they do not track the number of asylum-seekers purchasing tickets or the impact on regular passengers. Although, the data from McAllen International Airport reveals a concerning trend, with more people departing than arriving in recent years, highlighting the strain on airport resources and the challenges faced by passengers navigating the crowded terminals.

The backlog of immigration cases, exceeding 3.3 million according to Syracuse University, further compounds the issue, as asylum-seekers are granted parole into the country and allowed to travel while their cases are under review.
