Anti-Migrant Signs Removed from Colorado State Capitol Grounds, Sparking Controversy

Written by: Howard Beale

Signs that targeted Denver’s irresponsible sanctuary city policies and indigent migrant crisis were discovered and subsequently removed from the grounds of the Colorado State Capitol on Friday morning.

The signs, which were bolted to posts near metal street signs, were designed to resemble ordinary street signs. The signs, initially spotted around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, were attached to city-owned street signs on the outskirts of the east side of the state Capitol property.

One sign said, “Caution undocumented Democrats” and showed people running with weapons. One of the figures is depicted as pulling a child. The other said, “Migrant Hookers.” Below it, another sign reads $20. (KDVR / X)

Capitol crews removed the signs, and the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is currently investigating how they were placed there. The appearance of these signs coincides with the ongoing influx of migrants in Denver, which has ignited a passionate debate surrounding the explosion of illegal migrant arrivals in Denver.

The CSP has stated that the person(s) responsible for placing the signs could face charges ranging from vandalism to criminal mischief. However, the agency has not yet identified the individual involved. The Denver Police Department is also aware of the signs and is actively investigating to determine who placed them, according to KDVR.

The presence of these signs highlights the intense emotions and rising anger towards the thousands of undocumented migrants who are said to be straining Denver's resources. The high cost associated with supporting these indigent illegal migrants has been a significant source of conflict in the city.
